If You’re Not Putting Razorblades in Apples Tomorrow Night

Come and get a double healthy dosage of NEX MILLEN!  You may remember him from doing cuts on such priceless Zilla Rocca songs as “Proper,” “Nada,” “Flow God Zilla,” and “Bangladesh” along with production on “Cup Runneth (SGB Remix)” and the upcoming “Proper (Street Sk8r Remix)”….

First up, Nex spits with MURS, Kidz in the Hall, and Rapper Big Pooh:

Then Nex throws on his DJ costume (my guess: DJ SW1 from “In Living Color”) at Fluid from 10pm-2am:

Wednesday Linkavich

Your lineup tonight for the Trolley Dodgers vs. the Cubs on ESPN at 6:37pm.  I love Casey Blake in the 8 hole.  I hope Rafael Furcal can at least steal a couple bases before reinjuring his back.  And let’s pray that Juan Pierre never starts a game in this series.

Fall is my favorite time of the year because dope ass albums drop every few weeks.  Here’s a couple I recommend that you physically purchase (fuck gas):

Buy Termanology’s Politics As Usual here–Not only has Clean Guns covered “Watch How it Go Down” live about 39 times, but Termanology’s list of producers has me fiending for an instrumental copy of the album just ’cause (Havoc, Premo, Pete Rock, Nottz, Hi-Tek, Alchemist, etc)

Buy Heltah Skeltah’s D.I.R.T. here–The audio equivalent of Ong-Bak.  Rockness is back!

Buy Murs’ Murs For President here–Not digging this as much as I would’ve hoped, but just the fact that Murs has released an album on a major label shows me must be doing something right (take note Saigon, Papoose, Joell).

Buy Raphael Saadiq’s The Way I See It here–This will win many, many awards at next year’s Grammy’s.  Talented, almost-forgotten R&B singer/producer paying homage to Motown, Stax, Hi Records, and Chess Records make Starbucks swiggin white folks feel a lil’ funny in the pants.  Great record either way (minus the god awful Jay-Z collabo at the end).

Paul Newman’s 10 Unmissable Films over at the AV Club.–I saw Cool Hand Luke for the first time a year or 2 ago and took Dart Adams’ advice; I slapped myself in the face for 7 minutes for sleeping on that movie for so long.  I’m a big fan of The Sting, too it looks like my NetFlix que will be getting backed up with Newman wedged at the top now.

This guy has lost 170lbs in a year.  So can you.–Besides being the brother of Joe Posnanski, Tony Pos’ started this inspirational blog about his struggles with obeseity and how he’s attacked it.  This isn’t some tearjerking Oprah shit, just a few words from a guy who didn’t want to die because he couldn’t stop eating.
